trend spotting: pastel pants

Pastel pants have become popular ever since last spring when J. Brand came out with their collection. J. Brand's collection had a large range of colors, including my favorites- light pink, lavender, and turquoise. Though I thought they looked cool, I wasn't sure that I could pull off wearing turquoise pants. I really wanted the light pink ones, but sadly when I tried them on I didn't really like them. I thought they would be a jean material, but they were more stretchy and not very flattering on me.

Red jeans also have become pretty popular recently.  I feel like it might be a pretty short lived trend, but I have to say I kind of like it.

I recently ordered a pair of mint green skinny corduroys from Madewell. I'm pretty excited to get them because I don't really have any other pants besides jeans and they are all variations of blue.

boy advice in magazines

On my way to New York this weekend I picked up a copy of Cosmopolitan. I always think it's funny to see the advice that magazines give to people to deal with boys. I've read magazines since I was 7 years old and sadly, used to take this advice seriously. Luckily, I didn't act on it.

This month's issue of Cosmo had an article about how to decode guy's vague text messages. They said that if a guy sends you a text says, "You around?" that you should respond saying, "Depends...whose asking?"

That's unbelievably creepy. Who would ever write that? Clearly he's asking.

I don't understand why magazines and movies make girls think that they need to be cryptic for guys to like them. Honestly, it probably just makes them think you're weird. I'm not anywhere near an expert with guys, but I'd probably say not to go to magazines for advice.
